About Molly

 Molly Pearson is a New York City based independent theater and film producer, and a leader in the field of teaching Arts Entrepreneurship.

She is the co-founder and co-Artistic Director of Partial Comfort Productions, a three-time Drama Desk nominated and OBIE Winning nonprofit ensemble that The New York Times dubbed “the little company that could”. Selected company production highlights include, the commission and world premiere of A Bright New Boise by Samuel D. Hunter, directed by Davis McCallum, the NYC directorial debut of André Holland on Greg Keller’s Dutch Masters, and the world premiere of The Bereaved by Thomas Bradshaw, directed by May Adrales. Partial Comfort’s most recent production was the Off Broadway run of Nothing Gold Can Stay, by co-Artistic Director Chad Beckim, directed by Shelley Butler, and starring Mary Bacon (who won the Drama Desk’s 2020 Sam Norkin Award for her performance.)

As a Partner at Table Ten Films, she worked alongside Paul Marcarelli to produce the feature films The Green (starring Julia Ormond, Jason Butler Harner, Cheyenne Jackson, Illeana Douglas) and Clutter (starring Carol Kane, Natasha Lyonne, Joshua Leonard, Halley Feiffer, Maria Dizzia and Kathy Najimy). Both films are currently available for rental or purchase on all major online streaming platforms. Molly is the producer of the short films, Lovesick (sold to Mini Movie International, Paris, France), Love Is Hell and All Night which were screened at film festivals domestically and abroad. She has worked in the story department at both Disney/Buena Vista and the Disney Channel. Molly is currently in development on a feature film with writer Cori Thomas (When January Feels Like Summer/EST) and Drama Desk nominee Sarah Nina Hayon. 

As a Guest Lecturer at Harvard, Molly taught her course “Producing New Work for the American Stage”, and she’s been a frequent Lecturer and Guest Speaker at Columbia University, and NYU’s Atlantic Theater School, as well as on panels and at conferences nationwide. Molly designed the BFA Film Production curriculum for LA's Relativity School. 

Molly’s company, Leap Workshops, is a leader in the field of Arts Entrepreneurship, teaching skills to independent artists endeavoring to create new work on stage and on screen. Over the past twelve years, the business has built a thriving, global client base of actors, writers and directors and visionary artists.

Molly holds a BA from the New School, and an MFA in Film Production from Columbia University. 
She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two children.
